Meet the team behind "The Gringa & the Musician
Director
Roberto Pazos
The Gringa and the Musician is the Feature Film directing debut for Roberto Pazos. Roberto is the host and founder of Peruanos en el Mundo, a weekly travel show that has aired nationwide in the USA, Canada and Peru. On the air since 2015, the program has traveled to more than 50 countries to highlight Peruvians overseas.
Roberto is also the founder of Filmed In Peru, a showcase of Peruvian films with editions in New Jersey and New York. He also was the co-manager of the April 2024 OUTshine Film Festival in Miami.
In 1995, Roberto won the Grand Prix at the Port de Bouc International Youth Report Festival with is short film debut "Educadores de la Calle” (Street’s Educators.) Since then he has produced two other short films and was a Peabody Award winner during his tenure at CNN. He has also worked at both Univision and Telemundo networks. He is a native of Peru and holds both a bachelors degree and a Masters of Business degree from Florida International University.
Executive Producer
Steve Hunsicker
Steve Hunsicker has been involved in producing and managing TV programs for most of his adult life. As Executive News Director at WPEC (CBS), West Palm Beach and as News Director of WTVC (ABC) Chattanooga, Steve was responsible for all news and documentary programming. He currently is the Executive Producer of Peruanos en el Mundo, a weekly travel show that has been on the air since 2015.
Steve has produced three short films including two for the "LIllian Carter Awards" hosted by former President Jimmy Carter. The third was a film on disabled veterans learning to SCUBA dive.
Steve is a licensed drone pilot and in addition to producing The Gringa and the Musician, he also shot a lot of the video footage and interviews.
Steve has a bachelors degree from West Virginia University and holds a green belt in Lean Six Sigma.
Editor and Post Production
Roberto Barba
Roberto Barba brings decades of film production and film editing experience to The Gringa and the Musician.
To date he has co-produced three feature films. He has edited 8 feature films, some soap operas, some documentaries and more than 3000 reports for television. He has also directed 8 short films (5 fiction and 3 animation) six of them written by him, several with national awards and selections to various festivals in the country and abroad, including the Hispasat 4K festival for best Iberoamerican short film, awards for best short film in Cinco minutos cinco; Filmocorto, an official selection at the 37eme International Short film Festival of Clermont - Ferrand.
Roberto also composed some of the music in The Gringa and the Musician.
He lives in Lima, Peru.
